Diffusion Bond Furnaces
These furnaces allow for a dynamic force application (as contrasted to a dead weight force) to components being bonded.
Diffusion bonded assemblies can incorporate microchannel, thin foil members, heavy cross sections, and complex geometrical features without the liability of feature distortion or filling of microchannels by braze alloy.
The service temperature of the final diffusion bonded assembly can actually exceed the peak temperature of the joining process without risk of the joint re-melting. Introduction of a second or third metal (braze filler alloy) during fabrication is not necessary in diffusion bonding, thereby potentially reducing corrosion susceptibility.
