Research & Development

VPE provides materials science and fabrication technology expertise, contract research, and consulting for customers located over four continents. Our staff of 4 materials scientists working closely with staff mechanical and electrical engineers have the depth of experience needed to quickly develop solutions and when required, designed experiments to develop new approaches to difficult materials joining challenges.

Our roots are in research and development of diffusion bonded medical devices, precision brazed instrumentation apparatus and specialized thin film coatings. Each project undertaken required research and development of creative approaches to solving customer requests that very often employ new methods or approaches to fabrication. Today, VPE uses this background to solve particular customer requirements that may involve prototype development, applied materials science, process optimization through design of experiment and failure analysis.
