Our Team![]() Matt TimberlakeMatt began his career here at Vacuum Process Engineering in 2000. He has become an expert in the Diffusion Bonding process assisting customers in their design through design of experiments on materials that have not been commonly joined. He understands the relationship between material reaction, process requirements and tolerance needs for the successful diffusion bonding of materials. This PrecisionBraze™ consideration is commonly needed in heat exchangers where micro channels are present. He has also engineered pressure assisted bonding, transient liquid phase, low temperature bonding and solid state welding procedures for materials such as copper, stainless steel, titanium and super nickel alloys. Matt has developed thin film coatings for adhesive or bonding layers, protective layers and separator layers necessary for successful diffusion bonding when alloys are not commercially available.
