Vacuum Process Engineering provides testing and analysis services not available from conventional testing laboratories.

• Electrical Testing and Qualification: These tests are normally associated with testing electrical integrity of assemblies under hostile and unusual environments including high vacuum and high temperature
• Metallography: Welding, brazing, soldering, and other materials joining techniques and products are evaluated using this service.
• Vacuum Integrity: The suitability of a particular material or product for use in a vacuum environment is tested. Analysis of outgassed constituents from novel materials, assemblies, and space hardware is performed.
• Helium Leak Testing: Highly sensitive mass spectrometer-type leak detectors are used for locating and quantifying leaks in materials. By use of helium tracer gas, sensitivities to 6E-11 atmcc/sec are possible.
• Vacuum Bake: Outgassing and clean-up of components by the evolution (setting-free, releasing) of gas from a liquid or solid under vacuum.
• Induction Brazing: VPE uses induction heating methods to process and braze components and staged assemblies in vacuum, hydrogen and air environments. Quick heating rates and rapid cooling times are possible with this method of brazing.
• Infrared Brazing: This brazing technique utilizes focused 'light energy' typically from high intensity quartz bulbs to heat components to brazing temperature. Quick heating rates and rapid cooling times are possible when brazing non-metallic components.
